Pet names?

I'm talking to a friend of mine online, Althea. And the topic of intimacy came up and how my sister says I am gonna have a weird relationship in future because i cannot be intimate. Like for example I will never ever call my significant other "baby", "Angelpie",or even "Sweetie". Like she is not a baby, or a angelpie, and sweet???!. Imagine she just came back from run, Should I call her "Hey salty, how you doing today?". And its all a bit cannibalistic right. I don't know maybe I'm a weirdo.
